Operation Christmas Child

Every year Kingston residents provide enough gifts to pack around 100 shoeboxes, which are sent out through Operation Christmas Child to children across the world. These are children who are unlikely to have ever received a Christmas present.

The boxes are wrapped with Christmas paper and include a greetings card from ‘Kingston Church and the Community’. The gifts could include: cuddly toys, toothbrush & paste, soap, stationery things, toys for a boy or girl, wrapped sweets, and will also include knitted woolly articles made by the Kingston ‘knit n’ natter’ group who work hard for this charity. We pack boxes for three age groups; 2-4; 5-9 and 10-14yrs.

We organise a Cream Tea event in July to help fund some gifts and the increasing postage charges for the boxes, which are taken to Kingsbridge in November to begin their journey to Africa or Eastern Europe.

Please help bring a smile to as many children as possible; give your contributions to Shioya Walters 01548 810259 or leave them on the back seat of Kingston Church in the box which is provided during October.
