St. George’s Church, Modbury
St. George’s is a lively Anglican church, within the Modbury Mission Community working together in the South Hams.
More than a building, a name or a weekend gathering, St George’s is a community of people seeking together the purpose for which God has created us.
This happens in our Sunday celebrations, in the smaller gatherings during the week, and as we pray and serve the people of Modbury and the surrounding area.
St George’s Church Modbury is a wonderful, predominately 700 year-old, Grade 1 listed Anglican Church, dating from the 13th century. It has a tall broach spire, which can be seen from afar, and that was rebuilt in its original form in 1621 after being struck by lightning. With its typical Devon three-gabled roof, the church stands magnificently above, and is a dominant feature of the town… more.

Church Facilities, Car Parking and Location Map
St. George’s Church is located in Church Lane, Modbury, Devon PL210QN. The church is open from 9:00am till dusk or later.
The vehicle entrance to the church car park is approximately 100 metres from the church towards the A379. There is a pedestrian exit from the car park almost opposite the church.
