To know Jesus and make him known
Our Sunday services start at 11 am.
We hold Communion Services on the third and fourth Sunday of each month and there is Kids’ Church on the fourth Sunday of each month too.
More details about Kids’ Church are below.
We have a church choir and a prayer group which meets regularly, and a lively Church Missionary Society link with the Philippines.
Children are warmly welcomed into the church at 11am on the fourth Sunday of every month. With fun games and activities, our Families Worker helps children in their journey growing to know and love the Lord Jesus.
We offer age appropriate teaching for your children with all our leaders fully up-to-date with their DBS checks and safeguarding training.
A fun time for bible learning for everyone.
For more information, see our page about Kids’ Church.
Our church is linked to the Church of England School in the village and the Vicar and our Families Worker visit there regularly, participating in school assemblies and working with the school’s Ethos Committee.
We support Eric and Sandra Read in the Philippines through the Church Mission Society, with our prayers and giving.
We look forward to welcoming you to our church family and hope you will visit soon. We are in the heart of some of the country’s most beautiful countryside, with car parking, disabled access, a hearing loop, WC and baby facilities available.
The parish church of St Andrew was described by W. G. Hoskins as 'one of the oldest and most interesting churches in Devon'. It was largely a cruciform building with a central tower and was completed in around 1250.
In 1942 it was said to be 'well cared for' in the church log: the following year it was almost destroyed in a raid by a group of German fighter bombers. The church was rebuilt by 1957 but subsequent structural problems led to the tower being reduced to two thirds of its original height. However the two-story porch survived, along with its richly moulded thirteenth-century doorways.
